Hi, I am Jabbar Shah, a PhD student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at UMass Lowell. I am originally from Pakistan.
My current research focuses on AI-driven Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) — applying deep learning and computer vision techniques to inspect, detect, and evaluate structural integrity without damaging the material or system under test.
I hold a Master’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Hanyang University, Seoul, South Korea, where I specialized in Advanced Infrastructure Systems, working on intelligent excavation systems, BIM, and AR/VR applications in construction. I also hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from UET, Pakistan.
I have strong programming skills in Python and hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow), with a focus on computer vision for object detection, segmentation, and tracking.
In my free time, I enjoy travelling, reading, and finding a good coffee spot.
